Virginia Women's Municipal Leadership Institute executive director announces plan to pass the torch after five years

After considerable thought, Bonnie Svrcek has decided that the 2026 cohort will be her fifth and final Virginia Women's Municipal Leadership Institute (VWMLI) as executive director. With strong curriculum, passing the torch to a new executive director will be a near seamless transition.

"VWMLI has been my heart and soul for the past 4 years. I have loved and cherished every minute, and every woman who has participated. I am grateful beyond words for this privilege," says Svrcek.

She plans to continue to be involved but in a less hands-on capacity. Virginia Women Leading Government (VWLG) would like to thank Svrcek for all she has done to advance women leaders in Virginia.
